Harold E Hogg
I was born in Shoal Lake, MB in 1955 and grew up in the Strathclair area. I left the area in 1987 at which time I returned to College and then started my career with Manitoba Hydro.
In the early 80’s I started oil painting and that is when my artistic talent started to come to life. My favourites were when I was doing landscape paintings.
I lived in Gilliam, Manitoba for 8 years and continued with my painting. I moved to The Pas, Manitoba in 1997. A wide variety of my paintings were displayed at the Manitoba Hydro office in The Pas from 1997 to 2014.
In 2006 I took an interest in Intarsia and thought that I would give it a try and I have been doing it ever since. I entered a few of my pieces in the Northern Juried Art Show in 2013 and won 1st place for my bust of a good friend. The piece was on display at the Assiniboine Pavilion in Winnipeg Manitoba for a month.
In 2014 I entered some pieces in the Craft Show at The Pas Trappers Festival and won 1St for the bust of the Mayor of The Pas and 3rd for the geese in a ring and the female husky.
I retired from Manitoba Hydro in May of 2014 and I have continued working on my Intarsia.
